RCIA 2007-2008 - "Come and See"
The St. Bernard Parish RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) sessions will begin in mid August at 7:30 PM in the Clairvaux Center (rectory basement).  Everyone is welcome to attend this first meeting and have the opportunity to "Come and See" what the RCIA is all about.  The facilitators and parishioners involved in this ministry will explain how our RCIA group functions and will be available to answer any questions you may have about the sessions or the Catholic Faith.

Who comes to RCIA?  Anybody and everybody.  People come into the process for many reasons, among which are:

  • A personal call to join the Catholic Church, whether baptized in the Catholic Church, in another church, or never baptized.

  • A spouse of a member of the Catholic Church who desires to create harmony in the family by becoming Catholic.

  • Someone who is planning marriage to a Catholic, and is considering joining the Catholic Church to bring unity to the marriage.

  • An individual who is baptized Catholic, but has not received the Sacraments of Eucharist or Confirmation, and now wishes to receive them.

  • Any Catholic who wishes to discover more about their faith.

RCIA is NOT a classroom experience.  It is not a series of lectures, but IT IS a dialogue.  There are no examinations, no obligations.  It is not an inflexible process.  It is not boring or uninteresting.

If you cannot make the meeting but would like to experience the RCIA, contact Pat Malcolm at 551-02609.  COME AND SEE!!! Click Here for more information about RCIA.
