SCRIP
St. Bernard offers a gift certificate program where parishioners, family members, and friends can buy gift certificates at over 100 local businesses. We purchase the gift certificates at a discount and resell them for face value. The parishioner receives full value when using the certificates at the local merchants’ stores. This program has the potential to fund 1/3 of the budget if used regularly by ALL parishioners. There is no extra cost to you. Simply buy Scrip for the stores you shop at, and then use that Scrip like cash. You’ll be helping the parish with every purchase you make. If everyone in the parish used Scrip,
we would see a nice profit, and NO COST to anyone. When you buy Scrip remember to carry it with you so you will have it to use for last minute shopping. SCRIP is also easy to give for gifts. That’s something to think about over the coming months.
What
is SCRIP?
SCRIP is another name for gift certificates and gift cards to
restaurants, grocery stores, specialty stores and most of the
department stores you already frequent.
How does SCRIP work?
SCRIP works just like cash.
You simply pay for your purchases with your card or
certificate. Any
change back is either kept on the card electronically or given
back to you.
Why should I buy SCRIP?
Every SCRIP purchase you make puts money into St. Bernard.
You purchase SCRIP from St. Bernard, you pay $10 for $10
in SCRIP, but a percentage of that purchase is given back to St.
Bernard from the vendor.
Where
can I get SCRIP?
SCRIP is sold every morning in the Development Office located
across the hall from Mrs. Seward’s office; it is sold during
the day through the school office and after every mass.
Child Care parents can fill out an order form, place your
check in the envelope and put it in the SCRIP box.
The order will be filled and returned to you at Child
Care. You will
notice that some of the SCRIP is on-hand, some has to be
pre-ordered.
How
do I pre-order SCRIP?
Your order must be in before Monday morning when the order is
called in, and can be picked up on Friday.
During the Holidays, the turn-around time is a bit
longer, so please plan according.

special orders and payment must be in the school office by 8AM
on Monday morning to insure order and delivery by Friday the
same week.

the country. Think
about if you are
traveling,
you could use Scrip on your vacation.
