Sacrament
of Reconciliation:
Saturday:
3:30PM to 4:30PM
Other times by appointment with a priest
Infant
Baptism:
Baptism
class is held the first Monday of the month at 7:30PM in the
Clairvaux Center. Baptism rites are arranged at each class. Parents are
required to attend class before their child can be baptized.
Please call the rectory at 551-0269 for more information or
to register.
Marriage:
Couples
planning a marriage should contact one of the priests at least
six months in advance of their selected wedding date. However,
because of problems involved in coordinating open dates for
churches and reception halls, it is wise to do this much
further in advance. A priest will meet with the couple to
discuss the preparation.
Hospitalized
Parishioners:
If
a member of your family from the parish is in the hospital,
please contact us at the rectory as hospitals can no longer
call parishes with patients’ names. If that person needs to
be anointed, contact the hospital chaplain, or call for one of
the parish priests. Please enter their name in our Parish Book
of Prayer or call the rectory to request prayers at the
weekend Masses.
Communion
for Shut-Ins:
We
have many Eucharistic Ministers who would be happy to bring
communion to shut-in members of the parish. To make
arrangements, call the rectory, and they will be able to
provide a Eucharistic Minister who will bring communion into
the home.
Funeral
Arrangements:
If
a member of the parish dies, please call the rectory and ask
for a priest. The priest, if able, will come to the hospital
or home. The deceased person’s name will be included in the
Prayers of the Faithful at the weekend
Mass.
The
funeral arrangements can be made by contacting the mortuary of
your choice. The mortuary will in turn contact the parish
priest and confirm any arrangements that the family may have
made.
The
parish will be happy to provide its assistance for the
funeral. The Friends of
St.
Bernard Choir help to provide music for all funerals in the
parish with a wonderful spirit of song and worship for the
Rite of Christian Burial. If you have specific music that you
would like used, the priest will
relay this information to the choir director. The priest
and/or parish minister will also be available to discuss
readings and music for the Funeral Mass. If family members are
to be included in the service as readers, musicians, or gift
bearers, arrangements can also be made with them.
The
Clairvaux Center
may be used for funeral luncheons. The priest will contact the
Funeral Lunch Committee, who will prepare the reception meal.
A suggested fee is asked for this service.
Normally,
a Vigil Service for the deceased is held at the mortuary or
the church. Please discuss this matter with the priest.
