8th Graders Honored with Alter Server Awards
Four eighth graders represented St. Bernard Parish and School at the 2011 Omaha Archdiocese Serra Club Altar Server of the Year ceremony at St. Cecilia's Cathedral on Monday, April 4, 2011.  The students were honored guests at Mass with Archbishop George Lucas and were called up by Parish and by name to receive a medal of honor.  They were then the guests at a reception afterward. Congratulations to Carly Adams, Logan Kalkowski, Nolan McGill and Sean Whelan.

240 8th graders were there from all the metro archdiocesan schools. This was the largest group the Serra Club has ever honored. It brings their total to more than 10,000 young altar servers in the Archdiocese.
